SALVATION ARMY CONTINUES DISASTER RELIEF OPERATIONS IN PILGER


Omaha, Neb. (June 18, 2014)
– Salvation Army personnel continue to serve those affected by tornadoes in Pilger, Neb.  Emergency Services teams from Lincoln and Norfolk, Neb. remain on the scene. Lincoln Corps Officer, Major James Pennington, is the Incident Commander in Pilger.

Omaha, Neb. (June 17, 2014)
– Salvation Army personnel in the Western Division, headquartered in Omaha, have mobilized and are responding in the wake of tornadoes and damaging winds which devastated the community of Pilger, Neb. last evening. Currently, The Salvation Army has positioned canteens (mobile kitchen units) from Lincoln and Norfolk, Neb in the affected areas.  Major James Pennington, Lincoln Corps Officer, is the Incident Commander in Pilger.

THE SALVATION ARMY WESTERN DIVISION PREPARES TO RESPOND TO STORMS IN NEBRASKA AND IOWA
Omaha, Neb. (June 3, 2014) – Salvation Army personnel throughout the Western Division (Nebraska, western Iowa and South Dakota) are mobilizing to respond to tornadoes and damaging winds which forecasters are predicting will occur today and overnight. Currently, The Salvation Army has a minimum of five canteens (mobile kitchen units) ready to enter the affected areas as soon as the storm passes.

THE SALVATION ARMY RESPONDS TO NEBRASKA STORMS


The Salvation Army is responding to the storms that damaged communities in central Nebraska last evening.
 

An Emergency Disaster Services mobile canteen and crew from Lincoln, Neb. is in Beaver Crossing today, serving food and beverages to emergency and clean-up crews that struck that community last night. The Grand Island Salvation Army is also responding to storms that ravaged the town of Sutton, Neb.  The Salvation Army will remain on the scene for as long as needed.

THE OMAHA SALVATION ARMY RESPONDS TO FATAL INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT
  "We ask for the public to pray for those involved,” said John Kuzma, director of Emergency Disaster Services.

In the wake of a fatal industrial accident in south central Omaha yesterday, The Salvation Army responded immediately providing relief and respite to first responders and plant workers at the International Nutrition plant. The Army's emergency disaster services team was called into service by the Omaha Fire Department to provide relief after the fatal industrial accident on Monday morning.
