How You Can Help

Summer Fan Program
With Omaha's extreme summer heat and humidity, The Salvation Army collects new fans for its Summer Fan Program.  The fan program is critical because summer heat can pose dangerous health consequences for the elderly, ill or disabled without the luxury of central air conditioning.  Last year, over 1,000 households received fans thanks to the generosity of the Omaha community.

Fans are free of charge to qualified individuals.  Applications are available at The Salvation Army Lied Renaissance Center, 3612 Cuming St., during the summer.  Priority is given to people who are 50 years or older and those with medical disabilities.  Proof of medical disability is required when applying for a fan.  Call 402- 898-5860 for more information.

Drop off fans, or money to purchase new fans, at the Omaha Salvation Army, 3612 Cuming St., or call 898-5860. Fans can also be delivered to the Council Bluffs Corps at 715 North 16th Street., or call 328-2088.
