The Salvation Army assists low-income people that are having difficulty paying their utility bills.  The Army partners with Metropolitan Utilities District in Omaha, Aquila, Inc. and MidAmerican Energy Company in providing help for the needy including the elderly, disabled and those experiencing extreme hardship.  Last year more than 2,000 households in Omaha alone received help.  For more information on how to qualify, call 402-898-5966.  Council Bluffs residents may call 712-328-2088.
